About Sharon

Background and experience for Sharon Guzik, candidate for Medford School Committee

Experience that matters

Sharon Guzik has the passion, accessibility, and experience that our School Committee needs now. She's been involved in education for years, first as an educator, and later as a volunteer and parent.

Her years as a Medford volunteer and advocate will help her be an accessible voice for everyone and for all of our children. And she'll put that same experience to work finding creative solutions to our current economic problems.

Background

Sharon and her husband, Jack Beusmans, have two sons, who attend the Columbus school. Sharon grew up in Chicago and attended the Chicago Public Schools.  She has BA in Biology from the University of Chicago and an MS in Biology from Northeastern University.  After graduate school, Sharon worked as the Supervisor of the Biology teaching labs at Northeastern and taught biology as an adjunct instructor for many years.
